About the Commission

The National Commission on Violence Prevention is a high-level body established to provide strategic leadership and coordination on violence prevention across Jamaica. VPA Jamaica plays an active role in supporting the Commission’s evidence-based mandate.

The Commission brings together government ministries, civil society organisations, academia, and international partners to develop and implement a national framework for reducing violence and promoting community safety.
